Do you need any alternative for the totalcommander in Ubuntu?

There is a list with 10 notable recommendations. And the stable one for instant use is double commmander (project homepage). And sunflower file commander is also a promising recommendation. 

Unfortunately, Google stopped hositng their multi-lingual dictionary service. On behalf of the annoyed long-term users, including me, someone wrote a questionary post at google’s support forum. Now, the answer:

Google Dictionary was recently integrated into Google Web Search. Simply search for “define X” where X is the word you want to look up. Clicking on the “more” link (or on the toolbelt “Dictionary” link on the left) will give you practically the same experience that was available on dictionary.google.com.

We’re working hard to make the dictionary experience even better on google.com so it will be easier for our users to get the dictionary experience without the need to go to a separate property.

It is clear that Google Web Search and its poor features to compare with the now-gone Google Dictionary Service can not be the alterantive for the old good one.

acer 3820tz는 기본 제공 배터리가 9셀이라 휴대할 때 단점이 된다. 부피도 커지고 어댑터랑 같이 들고 다니려면 가방도 꽤나 불룩. 그래서 일반적인 크기의 6셀 배터리 사려고 알아봤더니, 가격이 매우 젠장이다. 미국에서 국내배송으로 사면 약 5만원 정도에 살 수 있는 걸 국내에서 배터리 전문 수입업체 거쳐서 사면 8만원 넘게 줘야한다는 사실.

원래 비싼 거라 국내에서도 비싸게 팔겠거니 했다면 “돈 차곡차곡 모아서 질러야지” 라는 생각이라도 했을텐데 . . . 배송비가 가격의 40%정도를 차지한다고 생각하니 혈압 상승. 걍 생각 안 하기로 했음. 로또 되면 생각해봐야지.

로또가 되면 새로 나온 Sony VAIO  Z를 사고, ….

한을 풀듯 애플스토어에서 맥북 에어 최고 사양을 하나 더 사겠지.

For me, the combination between dokuwiki and wordpress is attractive.

2008 s/s Diesel Liquid Space Holographic Fashion Show via messaget.com

Diesel recently held a fashion show in Florence that featured 3D holographic sea creatures accompanying the fashion designs. The art is amazing and very fluid, like creatures from the deep sea or another world. While regular human models paced up and down the runway, a host of polyp-like CGI characters appeared in mid-air to interact with them within an underwater landscape. And in a unique twist, these animated holograms were entirely viewable from both sides of the stage.

Diesel’s Creative Team (under the direction of Wilbert Das) based the show on an aquatic theme entitled “Liquid Space” and brought together Barcelona animation studio Dvein – who worked on the CGI visual effects and 3D animations – and Danish multi-media production agency, Vizoo, who provided the innovative technology for the show, which they had created themselves. Neither studio, say Diesel, had previously worked on anything like this before.

The core technology, 3-dimensional projection is developed by Vizoo. This video will be more helpful for your understanding of this technology. The fashion show vid does not seem to be processed in real-time rendering. The harmony between the models and the hologram has time-differences. Think about the SF comic book is published about 20 years ago. The imaginary thing in the comix became visible. The projected hologram in arena is not only for Lynn Minmay.

정말 미묘한 틈새 시장인데, 사실 구글이 지속적으로 유지해온 장점은 이런 부분들을 잘 파고 들어왔다는 점이다. 구글의 성공을 바라거나 뭐 그런 입장은 아니고, 구글이 항상 긴장을 놓을 수 없게 많드는 경쟁자가 끊임없이 나왔으면 좋겠다는 생각일 뿐.

이건 신발에 스피커와 mp3를 재생할 수 있는 전자부품이 달려있다 (정말 달려있는 수준이다. ㅡ ㅡ;) 무선 헤드폰을 사용해서 음악을 들을 수도 있고 신발에 내장된 조악한 스피커로도 소리를 들을 수 있다. 솔직히 컨셉 자체는 정말 말도 안되는 수준이고 완성도도 떨어질 것 같지만. Dada라는 회사가 농구화는 꽤 만들던 회사니까 신발의 기능도 괜찮을 듯 하다. 4시간 뿐인 재생 시간도 신발이라는 걸 생각하면 괜찮을 것 같고. ZDnet 리뷰는 아무래도 걸어다니면서 계속 듣는 걸 생각했나본데 회사의 컨셉은 농구를 하며 음악을 듣는 것에 더 집중한 것이 아닌가 한다. 뭐 나도 그런 생각은 자주 했었으니 특별히 엉뚱한 제품인 것만은 아닌데. 그래도 제품에 대한 신뢰나 기대는 별로.
